NAMI KDK offers free education programs for individuals and families impacted by mental health conditions. From NAMI Family-to-Family and Peer-to-Peer, to NAMI Basics, Homefront, and Family & Friends, our classes provide knowledge, connection, and hope for every stage of the journey.
Family to Family
Do you have a loved one living with a mental Illness? Do you wish you understood more about mental illnesses so you could better help your loved one and better cope with having a mental illness in your family? If so then the NAMI Family-to-Family class is for you. Led by trained people with lived experience of supporting a family member with a mental health condition, NAMI Family-to-Family is a class for families, significant others and friends of people with mental health conditions. Designated as an evidence-based program by SAMHSA, it facilitates a better understanding of mental health conditions, increases coping skills and empowers participants to become advocates for their family members.
Homefront
Do you love a service member or veteran living with a mental illness? NAMI Homefront is a class for families, caregivers and friends of military service members and veterans with mental health conditions. The course is designed specifically to help these families understand those challenges and improve their ability to support their service member or veteran. It is led by trained peers with lived experience in the military community.
Family & Friends
NAMI Family & Friends is a 4-hour seminar that informs and supports people who have loved ones with a mental health condition. Participants learn about diagnoses, treatment, recovery, communication strategies, crisis preparation and NAMI resources. Seminar leaders have personal experience with mental health conditions in their families.
